Fox clothing or Fox head was setup by Geoff Fox, a PHD from the University of Santa Clara. Fox started producing high end suspension and engine parts for Moto cross racers who wanted to gain that extra edge over the competition. To highlight Fox's superiority Geoff formed a team of Moto Cross riders. While the teams were out showing how superior fox parts were they also got noticed in the muddy conditions for their bright red, yellow & orange outfits hand made by fox themselves.
Fox clothing success
Because of the success of the team there was an instant demand for the clothing the winning team was wearing. Fox new they were on to a winner and started producing the clothing. It was an instant hit so Fox changed their business from mainly making technical components to clothing.
Fox is still a family run business with Geoff's four children helping run the business along with another 300 employees.
Branching out
After dominating the Moto cross world Fox clothing set its sights on the BMX world and sponsored Dave Mirra, Alan Cooke and Ruben Alcantara, all at the top of the BMX world. BMW clothing enjoyed the same success as Fox moto cross clothing. SO Fox then moved onto wakeboarding, again sponsoring some of the biggest names in the sport such as Danny Harf, Shawn Murray & Dallas Friday.
Fox clothing over the past 30 years has become an best seller internationally for action sportswear and shows no sign of slowing down, as they expand into Mountain biking and surfing as their clothing range covers, t-shirts, fleeces, board shorts, hats, beanies and jeans.
