Animal clothing was born out of the range of Animal watches which was established by two surfers who were feed up with their watch straps breaking every time they went out surfing. To solve the problem they came up with the idea of making a watch strap out Velcro which was much more secure then the traditional buckle watch strap.
Animal Watches
This idea took off after the pair started producing the watch straps in one of their mum's spare rooms. At first they started selling to their mates to fund surfing trips. However their popularity grew as they realized they could be used across many similar sports like skateboarding, snowboarding and windsurfing.
Clothing launch
Animal became a house hold name so the natural progression was to launch a range of clothing for surfers, Animal clothing was born. Animal then started to sponsor professional surfers, snowboards and skateboarders to help test their products, ensuring the highest quality. The Animal range now covers clothing, eye wear, watches, shoes, luggage and accessories.
Growth
Animal is now the fasted growing action sports brand in the UK, and shows no sign of slowing down as they expand into retail outlets across the UK. This has only been possible due to the wide range of products the Animal produce.
Sponsored riders
Animal sponsor riders from Motor Cross, Mountain biking, Wind surfing, Snowboarding and of course surfing. Riders include Dom Harrington, Alan Stokes, Jeff Perett, Sam Pilgrim & Timo Mullen. The team travels the world and competes at international level representing Animal.
