Mens Merrell Chameleon II Kahuna Classic Taupe Sandals

I have been struggling with problems with arthritis in both ankles and a longstanding injury to my right knee. The former problems now, thanks to my osteopath, Claire, seem to be resolving themselves fairly rapidly. One major change insisted upon by the aforementioned Claire is a change in walking footwear. Whereas I have always been a leather boots fan, with occasional (uncomfortable) forays into the ‘trainer/approach shoe’ field, I have finally bitten the bullet and gone lightweight. BUT, lightweight with a difference. Claire insisted I should try something with NO DIRECT ANKLE OR FOOT SUPPORT whatsoever. Soles were allowed but not lateral/side support. And what fits this niche? Minimal all-terrain sandals, and worn relatively loose. I was more than a little dubious about going in this direction, but decided, ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ and, after all Claire had done a magnificent job so far of sorting me out. So, with some trepidation I bought a pair of Mens Merrell Chameleon II Kahuna Classic Taupe Sandals and proceeded to walk. Now, more than three weeks later I am safe in saying the Claire was right. After a couple of days of gentle wear, without my usual orthotic supports, I began to notice a change. My ankles were not seized up every morning when I awoke. They were less painful too when I had been on my feet all day. So the crunch came – I built up daily walks fairly quickly and accomplished a 24k walk easily last week – with no disastrous after effects – AND I did it without the aid of the infamous ‘Vitamin I’ that our cousins across the big pond seem to eat like Smarties (M&M’s in their case). I think I may now be a convert to sandal walking. For winter? Simple, I have bought some ‘sealskinz’ socks, and testing them earlier this week I can pronounce them ‘fit for (my) purpose’. As a side benefit my injured knee is now virtually painless and I have regained most of its use. Finally, I have to say that the service I recieved was at least 110%. Can't thank you guys enough, for both the friendly and helpful advice when I called and the fast (free) delivery.

only bought last week ,And only done short walks in them. But they feel very very good Im sure you could walk long distances in these no problem

After looking at many sandals, this Merrell model shone through for quality and comfort.

Good prompt service (despatched same day) from supplier and great product. Fit is good and comfort good although being new and feet not used to them, wearing all day did make one foot a little sore on the side. Nevertheless I would purchase again.

i am about to order my second pair of chameleon 11 kahuna,which i first purchased 2 years back which are now beginning to look a little tired due to the amount of wear and tear they have suffered during this period. I suffer from Mortons neuroma which affects the nerve system on the soles of your feet the affect is similar to walking in bare feet on stones/rocks even in walking boots. The Chameleons enable me to walk everywhere and anywhere i honestly wear them everyday indoors/ outdoors which have saved me from so much discomfort,i can honestly recommend them as there are thousands of people who suffer with my foot problem.
