Ten marathons in ten days charity challenge

A Cheshire man is planning to run an amazing ten marathons in ten days to raise money for charity – a test that would leave an ordinary runner and his Merrell's begging for a rest.

Phil Roberts, a 32-year-old from Runcorn, hopes to complete the gruelling challenge to fundraise for the Brathay Hall Trust, reports his local paper.

Mr Roberts has run 13 marathons in the past, although not consecutively.

"I've been running marathons for years and in the past I've gone all out and almost thrown myself over the finish line," he told the Runcorn and Widnes Weekly News.

However, he says he will have to be more sensible and save "some fuel in the tank" throughout his ten-day endurance test.

The inspiration for the challenge came after his friend completed the same last year.

Brathay Hall Trust runs community-based and residential schemes for young people to help them develop skills and realise their potential.
