A Kent woman is to run the London Marathon for charity and hopes to beat the £1,950 she raised last year.
Clare Foreman, for Lordswood, is to run her third marathon for the Stickler Syndrome Support Group and add to the £4,000 she has raised over the past two years, reports the Kent Messenger.
"I chose it because it's a small charity and doesn't get that much attention," she told the paper.
To prepare for her fundraising effort, Ms Foreman is running 55 miles a week and her employer, Barclays, has promised to match the money she raises.
Stickler Syndrome is a genetic condition which afflicts an estimated one in 10,000 people and causes problems with the joints and eyes.
The varied symptoms and difficulty in diagnosis means that some experts believe up to three times as many people as estimated could suffer some form of the disorder, according to the Stickler Syndrome Support Group.
