Two Kent teenagers are to set up a club for the latest extreme sport to hit the UK streets.
Louis Findlay and Marcus O'Brien, both 17, will start a Parkour training club in Dartford after a local PE teacher spotted them practising their techniques, reports the Kent Messenger.
Parkour, or free running, involves using the urban environment to get from one place to another in a graceful and efficient way. It sees practitioners leaping from roofs, bouncing off walls and vaulting railings.
"It's not a sport, it's a discipline," says Marcus.
Although it may seem dangerous, Louis stresses the risks are minimal: "It's about safety first. We polish our moves before we go for it. It's not something you can compete in."
The training session is open to academy students and will be held every Monday at Leigh Technology Academy.
Parkour has a growing community in the UK, with the UK Parkour Association message board providing a place for enthusiasts to discuss techniques, swap tips and ask questions.
