Get you running shoes on for 'a day to remember'

Runners, keen or otherwise, might want to slip on their Merrell shoes and do a bit for charity in the coming weeks.

Up and down the country people will be putting on their running shoes and running a mile for Sport Relief.

One such even is the Sleaford Striders' Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile which, as with all the events, will take place on March 16th.

Speaking to the Sleaford Standard about the event, organiser Peter Nadin said: "As the countdown to the big day begins we're looking forward to seeing hundreds of local residents going the distance and getting sponsored for Sport Relief."

He added that it should be "a day to remember" for anyone who dons their running shoes and embarks on a sponsored run.

Sport Relief is a bi-annual event aimed at raising money to support poor and vulnerable people living in the UK and across the world.
