Wolverine World Inc, the company which is responsible for manufacturing the Merrell shoe brand, has announced a new appointment to its board of directors.
The 53-year-old William K Gerber has been appointed to the board, having previously worked as vice president of finance and corporate controller for The Limited, a global lifestyle brand company best-known for its Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works concepts rather than shoes.
Mr Gerber said he was pleased to be joining the Wolverine in order to help strengthen "its current portfolio of global brands" such as Merrell and the footwear it markets like Patagonia.
Meanwhile earlier in the year, the Wolverine group recorded a rise in profits during the fourth quarter citing 'soaring demand' for Merrell as the main reason behind the companies recent success.
"The Outdoor Group set the pace with the Merrell business posting robust double-digit increases in both earnings and revenue for the year," chief executive Blake Krueger said, reported Reuters.
Merrell shoes offer a blend of comfort and durability and can be found, along with brands such as Birkenstock and Caterpillar, here at Fitness Footwear.
