Ecco appoints new head of global golf

Danish golfing shoemaker Ecco has announced it has appointed a new head of Global Golf to oversee production of its footwear.

Michael Waack has been given the responsibility of overseeing the expansion of the Ecco brand into new territories and consolidating sales in existing markets.

The 50 year-old German has worked with Ecco for the past six years as the Golf Division sales manager in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Mr Waack said: “This is a tremendous opportunity to take on a new position within the Ecco family.”

“My goal is to continue the Ecco philosophy of becoming the best and most desired brand in golf. To accomplish this, we’ll be focusing on continuing growth by working with the right partners in the right places,” he added.

The popular Ecco brand is worn by international tour stars such as Fred Couples, Colin Montgomerie, Stuart Appleby and Aaron Baddeley among others.
