Darts champ in charity supermarket grab

Darts legend Bobby George put down his arrows and laced up his running shoes in a charity supermarket trolley dash.

Mr George raised over £2,000 this week when he took part in the stunt to raise money for Sport Relief, reports the Norwich Evening News.

"I always like to try something different and I did - I wrecked the whole shop. It was good fun, normally you'd get chucked out for doing something like that," he told the paper.

The two-time News of the World Darts Championship winner also said he would be joining other runners for the Sport Relief mile run in Ipswich on March 16th.

Mr George's trolley dash took place at the Sainsbury's Pound Lane store, which told the paper it was happy it could make a contribution to the charity.

Sport Relief will see thousands, included celebrities such as Fearne Cotton and Davina McCall, take part in events across the country.
