Chichester getting ready for Run for Life

Over 400 Chichester women have already signed up to a sponsored run to help Cancer Research UK this summer.

They will be taking part in the Race For Life event in the grounds of the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum and West Dean Estate on Sunday, July 13th.

Speaking to the Chichester Observer, area event manager Jemma Lolloy said: "We hope this is an invitation women can't refuse."

The Chichester event has a total of 2,000 places to be filled, which Ms Lolloy is confident will be done.

She highlights that Race for Life doesn't involve running and that many participants choose to walk and enjoy the spirit of the day.

Hoping to improve on last years result of £133,313, the charity has set a target of £136,000 for Chichester's 2008 event.

Race for Life 2007 saw 665,000 women complete the five kilometre courses and raised over £40 million for cancer research.

If you are taking part in this years event, Merrell walking boots and selection of running shoes are available here.
