Runner to raise money in memory of his brother

Runner Robert Henderson is to dig out his running shoes in a bid to raise money in memory of his brother, Shaun.

Mr Henderson is to run 400 miles from Scotland to Stevenage to raise awareness of his brother’s death after Shaun was knocked over by a drink driver almost a year ago.

Speaking to thecomet.net, the 46 year-old Robert, who regularly puts on his running shoes due to his love of athletics, said: “I thought a pilgrimage from Shaun’s home in Edinburgh to his new home in Stevenage would be something pretty big.”

He said the main reason behind the venture is to raise awareness of the dangers of drink driving.

“I would hate to see any other parents, children, brothers or sisters get news from the police saying a family member was killed by a drunk driver,” he concludes.

If you are entering a run for charity or otherwise then suitable footwear will be required

Shoes from Ecco, Keen, Merrell and Hi-Tec are available from here at Fitness Footwear.
