Presidential candidate to run Boston Marathon

Mike Huckabee, Republican candidate in the US’ presidential race, will be hoping he can win a different sort of competition when he dons his running shoes for the Boston Marathon in April.

Although it is unclear whether he will be wearing Mizuno, Ecco or Merrell, it has been confirmed that Mr Huckabee will be part of the illustrious Team Hoyt charity team.

Richard Hoyt has pushed his wheelchair-bound son, Rick, in 25 Boston Marathons to date and the inspiring pair have become firm favourites with fans.

Mr Huckabee has worn his running shoes before for four previous marathons, finishing with a personal best time of four hours, 26 minutes, five seconds at the 2006 Little Rock Marathon.
