Champions join the London Marathon
US champion Ryan Hall and World half marathon champion Sammy Wanjiru have both been added to the bill of the London Marathon.
The pair join a cast of runners already studded with champions.
They will be running against World and Olympic champions Luke Kibet and Stefano Baldini as well as former world record-holder Paul Tergat and the defending London champion Martin Lel on April 13th.
Dave Bedford, the race director, said: “We have assembled one of the best ever fields for the race this year.”
Both the runners made their debuts in the event back in 2007.
Wanjiru is targeting a time of two hours and five minutes as he eyes up a place on Kenya’s Olympic team.
