Celebrities help pets and owners to get fit

Actress and model, Molly Simms and celebrity fitness guru Gunnar Peterson have launched an initiative to get both pets and their owners into their running shoes.

The star of Starsky and Hutch and The Benchwarmers, along with the fitness trainer to the likes of Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez, are urging pet owners to dig out their Ecco, Hi-Tec, Merrell and any other form of training shoe to take part in this year’s Petfit challenge.

Gunnar said the initiative was sparked by his discovery that 35 per cent of the pet population in the US was either overweight or obese.

He said: “My livelihood is helping celebrities achieve their fitness goals, but I also am an avid pet lover and have four dogs of my own.

“So, it was a natural extension for me to design a special workout program that pet owners can do with their pets,” Gunnar continued.
