Windy city to host green fashion bonanza
With eco-fashion hitting new levels across the world, clothing and footwear manufacturers like Patagonia are leading the way.
On September 27th Chicago residents will get a chance to sample the brand's environmentally-friendly products, alongside other eco-apparel, at the EcoModa fashion showcase.
As part of the Sustainable Convergence 2007 program of events, the Chicago fashion bonanza will feature a sustainable enterprise fair, music and eco-friendly refreshments, alongside the greenest shoes and apparel.
Residents of the windy city will find the event, organized by the Foresight Design Initiative, at the Notebaert Nature Museum.
Bamboo, organic cotton and other innovative materials are reported to be ready for exposure in daring eco-friendly apparel being entered at the event's DIY eco-fashion contest.
By recycling scrap fleece and redesigning its apparel patterns to keep off-cuts down to a minimum, Patagonia has affirmed its environmental credentials, making its products a must-see for all eco-friendly fashion gurus at the show.
