Saturday September 8th saw another successful Wimbledon Common Time Trail end with a personal best finish from second-time winner Ian Higgins.
The five km race has taken place every Saturday of this year, attracting many regular runners to the grassy common.
Although SW19 may be more famed for its famous tennis tournament and for certain hairy Wombles roaming the common, the local running community is asserting itself by attending the enjoyable weekly race.
As many as 325 budding runners had completed the time trial by April of this year, with many more since joining their ranks to try to post a course record time.
The Wimbledon event is part of a nation-wide expansion of the time trial network, with organisers hoping to build on the success of the founding event in Bushy park.
Participants are likely to find nothing more important than the state of their running shoes, with a wide selection of durable models available here on Fitness Footwear, all promising to help runners hold their own when the race is on.
