Coventry rises to the challenge

Outdoor enthusiasts in the Midlands yesterday enjoyed the Coventry Way Challenge, an annual race stretching for 40 miles around the surrounding countryside.

Participants are instructed to walk or run, either on their own or as part of a relay team, with the incentive of food and drinks at seven checkpoints along the route.

Contestants at the challenge range from recreational joggers to serious distance runners, with all advised by the organisers to wear suitable footwear – good advice for all those hoping to complete the course without too many blisters!
