Birkenstock sandals stay 'one step ahead'
While summer once again saw flip-flops and open shoes turning up everywhere, Birkenstock sandals were among the most desirable around, said an article for Entrepeneur.com, entitled 'Staying one step ahead'.
Kristin Edelhouser wrote on the site that flip-flops had matured from their origins as surfer beach-wear, to become multi-purpose footwear with a competitive market vying to reach new levels in style and comfort.
And when it comes to standing out from the crowd, she found that certain classic models stood the test of time.
"Think about brands like Birkenstock. Just hearing that name makes people automatically envision the famous styles," said the article.
The footwear and apparel company indeed offers a wide range of sandals, from the classic two-strap Arizona model to the brightly-coloured one-strap Madrid.
The positive review is further good news for the company's footwear, after Arizona podiatrist John Tassone recommended its sandals to summer buyers, encouraging them to avoid other seasonal footwear that did not provide the same level of support and protection.
