Team Merrell gears up Urban Rat Race, London

Merrell's adventure sports team will arrive in London next month for the first Urban Rat Race to be held in the capital.

Exact locations and details of individual challenges will remain secret until the day of the race, although going by this summer's Edinburgh event, participants can expect to face a whole of host unorthodox obstacles.

Previous events have seen racers tasked with climbing statues, canoe down urban waterways and abseil from multi-story buildings.

The winning team of three will scoop a prize of £20,000 and a trip to Trinidad and Tobago.

Entry for the Prologue Rookie Race is £35, while the full two day challenge will set competitors back £99 each.

The Edinburgh event was won by Team Nike, while the team from Merrell footwear secured a very creditable fifth place.
