Runner: ‘I wouldn’t compete in anything other than Hi-Tec shoes’

Long-distance runner and keen marathon fan Thomas Armstrong loves Hi-Tec shoes so much he wouldn’t run in any other brand.

Mr Armstrong, 66, uses the shoes for the 35 marathons he runs every year, in a career that has seen him raise £73,500 for charity.

Since 1984, he has been running in the same pair of Hi-Tec shoes, only replacing them this year after they had seen service in some 250 races.

He said: “I would not consider doing any serious running in any other shoes brands apart from Hi-Tec as they are the most comfortable and durable to run in. I would be glad to recommend them to any serious runners and I will continue to run in them for a long time to come.”
