Owners of long-serving, older equipment made by Patagonia may be interested to know that the firm has expanded its equipment recycling scheme.
In 2005, Patagonia launched the Common Threads Garment Recycling Program, through which customers could return their worn out Capilene Performance Baselayers to the firm for recycling.
However, following the success of the project, its scope has now been expanded to include Patagonia's Polartec fleece from other manufacturers and Patagonia organic cotton T-shirts.
A spokesman for Patagonia said: "Way too much of what is made these days ends up in the trash at the end of its useful life. At Patagonia, we're working to change that.
"Our long-term goal is to take environmental responsibility for everything we make. Please help us by changing your clothes for good."
