Naomi Watts spotted in Birkenstocks

Hollywood star Naomi Watts has become the latest celebrity to be spotted in Birkenstock sandals.

The pregnant star was wearing silver Papillion sandals for a shopping trip in Los Angeles, as the trend for the eco-friendly footwear among A-list celebrities continues.

Other movers and shakers espied in the shoes include Chris Martin of top-selling rock band Coldplay, his wife actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Tom Cruise.

The range has recently become even more on-trend thanks to the addition of a diffusion line called Tatami specially designed by high-end fashion designer Philip Lim, as well as an existing range conceived by supermodel Heidi Klum.

Fitness Footwear sells a range of Birkenstock shoes and sandals including the Zerraport, Newport and Venice models.

Brit Ms Watts is best known for her roles in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive, as well as the blockbuster remakes of the Ring and King Kong. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 21 Grams.
