Leisure centre offers entry-level climbing weekends
The Westway Sports Centre in London is inviting novice climbers to come and try the sport for themselves in the form of a taster programme on its indoor rock climbing wall.
The event is set to take place on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of June between 10am and 1pm, and includes a total of six hours of tuition over the two days as well as a free voucher to spend on climbing equipment.
Non-members of the leisure centre can expect to pay £70, while members will be charged £65. Applications for places must arrive no later than 27th of April.
A survey from the British Mountaineering Council found that around five million people use rock climbing walls in the UK every year, bearing testament to the sport's burgeoning popularity.
