Patagonia products make ethical Christmas presents

For festive shoppers looking to fill stockings, not their carbon footprints, products from Patagonia have been singled out as a way of making Christmas consumerism more environmentally-friendly.

Comments on the brand come in an article designed to help shoppers offset their spending by buying more ethically-minded products.

Patagonia's fleeces, which are made from recycled plastic bottles, were marked out as the "greenest presents" in an article in the Daily Telegraph at the weekend.

They featured along with fair trade toys and fashions as well as energy saving gadgets such as a water powered clock.

Meanwhile, the Patagonia company was joined by the Mountain Equipment Co-op as the only North American retailers to take the step of removing products containing bisphenol from the shelves.

The controversial chemical can be found in some bottles and plastic products.

If you are looking to wear 'greener' clothes or just need some walking boots then Patagonia footwear products are available here from Fitness Footwear.
