Recent Cardiff half marathon participants have been offered an apology by organisers, who regretted the congestion experienced en route around the castle grounds.
The event took place on October 14th, and while the many runners may have cramped each other's style around the castle area, the race was still enjoyable for many.
Sponsored by New Balance and other top sports and footwear brands, many Cardiff inhabitants donned their own running shoes and took on the 13 mile course.
Normally an annual full marathon is held in the city, but organisers this time decided to focus exclusively on the shorter race, which was won in a time of one hour and seven minutes.
The Cardiff events were first staged in 2002, when more than £200,000 was raised by participants for over 100 charities, while the 2005 event more than doubled that with £450,000, the race organisers claim.
With sponsors like New Balance the race looks set to flourish in the future and keen athletes can get hold of running shoes from the brand here at Fitness Footwear.
