New Balance strikes the right balance

New Balance's 800 shoe has been given a review as solid as the shoe's frame itself by sports website Runner's World.

Featuring high in the site's Fall Trail Running Shoe Guide, the Balance 800 was singled out for its grip and comfortable fit.

"The 800 fit like a glove. I like that the tread pattern didn't hold onto small rocks," said a wear-tester, with the site itself backing up the goodwill felt toward the shoe.

Runner's World said: "A great shoe, the new 800 features a deep diamond-shaped lug design of both sticky and hard rubber for good traction," with the qualities outlined making it a must-have for "biomechanically efficient runners who want a fast-paced training or racing shoe".

But the highest praise was reserved for the shoe's flexibilitity: "Results from the Shoe Lab showed the forefoot to be the most flexible in this guide, which adds to its fast feel."

Fitness Footwear stocks shoes from well-proven brands like New Balance, with flexibility and comfort a priority for many of the brands in store.
