A British woman is to trek 80 miles across New Zealand for the most selfless cause to help pay for a replacement leg for a nine-year old girl.
According to the Hereford Times, Sarah Cox, from Orleton, will take on the challenge with no prior hiking experience.
Hoping to raise awareness of meningitis suffering and to gain sponsorship money, all proceeds of Ms Cox's challenge will go to the Meningitis Trust.
The New Zealand-bound trekker told the Hereford Times: "I had a friend at university who had meningitis and I learned what it does to people."
"I then heard about this little girl in the Midlands who has lost one of her legs to the disease. I wanted to do what I could to help, something different to make people aware of meningitis" she added.
A pair of Merrell hiking boots could come in useful when Ms Cox takes to the New Zealand hills quality brands like Merrell and Hi-Tec are available here at Fitness Footwear.
