A newspaper editor has exchanged pen for paddle by taking to watersports in order to raise money for flood victims.
Taking part in a nine-mile canoe race on the River Wye, editor of Western Daily Press commercial features Simon Harding managed to lead his crew all the way through to the end.
His team made £4,000 in the process, all of which has been donated to the Gloucestershire Flood Appeal.
Towns and villages across the Gloucestershire region were devastated in the summer's flooding, with charity events like the River Wye race raising valuable funds for rebuilding damaged properties.
The Western Daily Press crew brought a rare hint of journalism to the automobile-dominated race, with Mr Harding's team invited to join 14 crews from the Colt Car Company's Mid-West region in order to negotiate the River Wye and boost the charity appeal.
Partaking in watersports requires resistant shoes which will not give in to the challenges of the rives, with Fitness Footwear stocking great water-ready footwear from brands like Keen and Ecco.
