An all-female team is taking the rowing world by storm by becoming the first non-male entry in the titanic test of crossing the Atlantic.
Named the Atlantic Angels, the four blondes hope to be boosted by more than just novelty factor when they take on the daunting Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race.
Aiming to raise more than £25,000 for three cancer charities, the girls are taking to the ocean in a 29-foot rowing boat they hope will see them safely across the 3,000 mile expanse.
Support is not lacking, with 25,000 people supposedly backing them, as they attempt to break the all-female Atlantic crossing record, standing at 67 days 7 hours and 20 minutes.
Also at stake is the youngest participant record, with one team member at only 17 years of age aiming to make her own piece of history when the team set sail in December out toward the Canary Islands and then Antigua.
People taking part in gruelling marine activities need to ensure a quality pair of shoes to keep them as dry as possible, with Fitness Footwear providing a range of watersport shoes.
