Enthusiastic runners from the south west and further afield will soon take to the picturesque countryside of Dartmoor as the area hosts a series of running events.
Sunday October 21st will see runners of all abilities flood to the Devon moors for the Dartmoor Vale Marathon and associated events.
Alongside the 26-mile challenge will be a host of other events for those wanting a race at their level as the area also hosts a half-marathon, a ten-kilometre run and even a fun run for families and less serious runners.
The two longer races take athletes deep into the moors, crossing Teign Valley to Chudleigh and coming back down country lanes that straddle Ugbrooke Park.
Both the marathon and half-marathon are described as 'undulating' by Runner's World, but the ten km run is a friendlier prospect with little hill-running.
Participating in running races at any level puts considerable strain on the legs and feet, which means that good running shoes like those on Fitness Footwear are a must-have.
