Merrell’s tapered polypropylene Grade 7 insole is designed specifically to match the requirements of backpacking when the wearer will be carrying extra weight. As a result, greater rigidity and less forefoot flex is required to achieve the ideal amount of stability for comfortable walking.
The Grade 7 insole is rigid to help stabilise the foot at heel strike and through to toe, preventing it from twisting on uneven terrain and stabilising the step with a small amount of flex in the forefoot.
